3 day weekend!!!

Well, after my first full week back to work, it's nice to have a 3 day weekend to relax and spend time with Anthony. We didn't do much this weekend. Just the usual, laundry, clean, groceries, etc. Anthony was really fussy most of the days on Saturday and Sunday and I think I finally realize what's causing it.....me! On weekends in the mornings, I have a small cup of coffee. I had a cup both days on Saturday and Sunday....he was fussy. Today, I had zero caffeine and no fussiness. Hmm...I think we found the problem. Stinks for me, but I'm used to it since I couldn't have much during the pregnancy. I just have to cut it out all together now.
Since Anthony was in a better mood today, here are some cute pictures (almost 10 weeks old):

2 month Doctor's Appointment

Anthony had his 2 month doctor's appointment today. He got 3 shots and one oral shot. I held on to his hands and gave him kisses while he was getting them. He was upset, but he did very well. Thank goodness the nurse was quick with those shots...the needles were huge! I teared up when I saw the needles :(
He does have a small ear infection, so now he's on antibiotics for it. We had no idea, but I guess that explains the fussiness all weekend. Hopefully once this gets cleared up, he'll sleep longer through the night.

Back to work...

Well, today was my first day back to work after being on maternity leave for 8 1/2 weeks. My boss said last week that today would be a day for catching up on emails and staying in the office, but it was busy! After I sorted threw all 165+ emails, I ended up going to a couple of meetings. It just seemed like a crazy and hectic day dealing with whining customers and annoying voice mails. I felt like I never left.
Anthony did well at his first full day of daycare. I didn't want to let him go when I picked him up! I missed him a lot. It was harder leaving him today because he was awake and cried a little when I left....so sad :(
Anthony's 2 months old today. Tomorrow he has his 2 month appointment at the pediatrician, but I am not looking forward to it because he's due for a bunch of shots :( :( :( I don't know how I'm going to be able to handle this one. I was going to take him myself, but I told Matt he has to come with me for support. After the feeding tube threw his nose appointment, I need support!!
I will let you know how it goes!

1st Day at Daycare :-(

I go back to work next Monday, so this morning I did a half day drop off for Anthony at daycare, so I won't be a nervous wreck next week. I think I did ok. He was sleeping when I dropped him off, so that really helped. If he would have been awake, I know I would have lost it. Last Friday, Anthony and I visited with Vivian for a couple of hours and I cried when we left that day because a little boy squeezed Anthony's foot and made him cry. I didn't want to take him back! I told Vivian about it this morning and she told me not to worry because no one but her will be touching him. That made me feel a lot better. Vivian said he was really good today except he's having issues taking a bottle (my fault since he's nursing!!) We have to work on that more here at home.
Anthony goes back on Wednesday for about 6 hours, so hopefully each time will get a little bit easier.

Happy Mother's Day

It's my first Mother's Day and it's really hard to believe. Friday night, we went to Target, then to Buffalo Wild Wings and ordered take out (Parmesan garlic boneless wings are the best!!). That's all I wanted for my Mother's Day dinner, I'm simple. We went out Friday because we knew Sunday's weather was going to be crappy. At Target I got a few things for Anthony's scrapbook and he got a Bumbo chair. He's still a little too small for it, but he likes to lounge in it for now.

Looks like he's trying to smile for the camera :-)

This morning, Anthony and Daddy made me pancakes

He's proud of his work!!

Then we took a nap

Anthony's Baptism

Anthony's baptism was Sunday, May 4, 2008, at St. Francis in Clearfield, Pa. It was beautiful and a lot of our family and friends were there....at least 30 people! We had a very nice lunch afterwards at the Smokehouse in Curwensville. Here are the pictures....

Anthony's First Trip to Pennsylvania

Well, we survived the first trip to Pennsylvania with Anthony and the two dogs. It wasn't that bad. The trip was very exhausting though. So much visiting and traveling between houses; I am happy to be home! There was one big surprise this weekend. My Mom flew in from Alaska just for Anthony's baptism. I was so excited to see her. I original thought that my Mom would not get to meet him until my sister's wedding next year, but I was wrong. I did get to have this 4 generation picture taken.

Great Grandma and Pap Showen, Grandma Luann, Jen, and Anthony (4 generations!)

Everyone was so excited to meet him....especially those who had not seen him in person yet. Here are a few pictures of some of our family members who got to hold him for the first time....

I am going to post a separate blog with pictures from the baptism, but here is a really cute picture of Anthony from his Aunt Sara and Uncle Andy's camera.
